‘When the cat’s away, the mice will play.’ When I was a young girl, I was addicted in the video games. However, my parents thought playing games was bad for my study. So they set a limit which I can play games only 2 hours a week. It drove me crazy because of 2 hours was not enough to a game player. When they hung out, I told them I didn’t want to go outside because of a lot of assignments. And then they left, I could play the games at random. Before they went back, I turned off the game device and went back to my room to do my homework. It seemed like nothing happen during their departure.their departure.![]() life in your county now & life in your country 50 years ago As a third world country, some people may think China must be a poor country and is a country which is lack of technology. However, with the development of decades, we have improved a lot about technology. Compared with the past, now there are dramatic changes in China like transportation, the way of communication and entertainment. First, there is a vast difference between life in China now and life in China 50 years ago in transportation. One of the change is vehicle has shortened the time of transportation. For example, according to an article from 1.Xiamen Evening News, compared with the time of motor car which is from Chongqing to Xiamen, the time of high speed rail will shorten 5 hours in next years. For instance, here is a 2.picture from 12306.cn which is also named the China Rail Customer Service Center, is an official website to buy train ticket, about the time sheet of train from Chongqing to Beijing. It shows that G310 which is a high speed rail will spend 12 hours and 3 minutes from Chongqing to Beijing, yet K508 which is a train will cost more than 31 hours. According to an 3.article from gov.cn, the first high speed rail from Chongqing to Beijing worked in January 1th 2015 and it only cost almost 12 hours. In the contrast, we had to spend more than 20 hours in the past. Another change is that more roads has been built. To illustrate, 4.Asian Wall Street Journal notes ‘That can be a difficult task in China, where roads are frequently in poor shape, they use livestock to transit goods’, it points out that we had to use animals to transit goods in the past like ox, because the unusual shape roads couldn’t pass the vehicle in some remote areas. For instance, by 5.People.com.cn shows ‘In 1965 the government paid 800,000 to build the Motuo highway... In October 2008 the government cost 950,000,000 to build the Motuo highway...’, it illustrates that like Motuo which is a remote area of Tibet, there are more and more highway roads which have been built in the poor area these years. In addition, the way of communication today is huge different from 50 years ago. First, the letters have been replaced by phones. For instance, as 6.China Daily observes ‘Since Li Xiaopeng has been away from home so much for intensive training, the father and son would often have to communicate by letters’, as we all know that we always contacted our friends or families who were far away from us by writing letters before the widespread use of cell phones. In the contrast, we now use cell phones to keep in touch with them because it only takes our few seconds to send a message and we can call them anytime. To illustrate, according to 7.WH News finds that over 400,000 privacy letters which were delivered per month in Huancui district, Weihai City 50 years in the past; however, now about 40,000 letters are delivered each month. Besides, now apps have become one of the most common methods of communication. For example, 8.Marketing magazine illustrates ‘At over 300 million users, China’s WeChat is the dominant chat app in Asia’, it shows that now so many people are using WeChat app which has become one of the most convenient apps in Asia to chat with others. As you can see, we are not just talking on the phone, we also use apps to send messages, pictures and videos to our friends and families at the present. For instance, according to an article from 9.Entertainment close-up, ‘During the micro-app summit, platform operators such as WeChat, EasyChat, Baidu and Sina shared their experiences’. It shows that now we share our emotions and experiences by publishing articles and pictures in these apps and then our friends give the comments under the articles and pictures instead of talking to others by telephone or sending messages one by one. Moreover, a comparison between the past and the present reveals considerable differences in entertainment. First, people pay more for entertainment. For example, an article form 10.Variety finds ‘China's box office grew by 27% in 2013, rising from 2.7 billion in 2012 to an estimated 3.57 billion last year’, we can clearly see that Chinese are willing to spend more money for movies which is one of the most popular ways to relax now. To illustrate, here is a chart from the 11.Newzoo finds that the number of Chinese who spend money for games has gradually risen between 2012 to 2016 and it predicts the cost of games in China will be slightly increased from 2016 to 2019. Furthermore, there are more places for people to entertain. For instance, 12.Entertainment Close-up mentions Richard L. Gelfond who is IMAX’s CEO observes ‘Less than a year after its significant 19-theatre commitment, we are pleased that SFC is once again adding more IMAX theaters to its circuit’, he points out that now they have built more IMAX theaters for audiences to make them experience better the environment and also they can enjoy the advanced film technology better. To illustrate, according to an article from 13.Entertainment, close-up shows ‘The Wuzhen Grand Theatre, completed in 2013 at a cost of 450 million yuan’; it demonstrates that our government has much money to construct buildings for citizens to motivate them to get involved in entertainment. To sum up, owing to these inventions, our life has huge differences between 50 years ago and nowadays especially in transportation, the way of communication and entertainment. The satisfaction of citizens has been promoted these decades. I believe that our life will be better and better because of the developing technology.

1. If I won a lot of money, I would buy a villa in a Thai beach which is near by the sea.
2. If I decide to go out this weekend, I will go shopping in Tysons Corner. 3. If you visit my country, I will take you to my hometown Chonqing to view beautiful scenery and eat some delicious spicy food such as hotpot. 4. If I have enough time this year, I will travel around Dali which is a beautiful city of Yunnan. 5. Most people would be a lot happier if they could have much money without working. 6. If I were a bird, I would fly over the sea. 7. I'll be annoyed this month if I run out of my money. 8. If I had enough time this month, I would go back my hometown Chongqing to eat some spicy food. As a student, we always study and do homework. However, in my opinion we should have some wishes instead of studying all the days. There are 3 wishes in my bucket list as followed.
First, after coming to the United States, I want to get a America drive license. In my opinion, it is convenient for me when I can drive my own car. I live in George Mason University, Fairfax, Viginia which is a wealthy area. The public transportation is not so convenient and has become my biggest problem. When I finished my Walmart shopping, I have to call a uber to pick me up. If I get my drive license, I can buy my own car and I shouldn't worry about transportation anymore. So I have to get it quickly. In addition, I want to travel to Taiwan to enjoy the Night Market. I heard that the Night Market of Taiwan has plenty of kinds of food like bubble milk tea and fried chicken which is one of my favorite foods. Maybe I will give up fried chicken which made in my hometown because Taiwan's fried chicken is the most delicious. Finally, I want to finish my academic English courses. Because after finishing the academic English courses, I can start the pathway courses. If I fail academic English courses, I have to take it again and it wastes my time. It also means that my English has improved a lot so I can learn my major course easily. ![]()
There are some differences between Clinton and Trump in immigration. First, Clinton agrees with that the United States should allow Syrian refugees into the country while Trump disagrees with it now. For example, Clinton points out ‘Remember, many of these refugees are fleeing the same terrorists who threaten us’ to show that we should protect these refugees because our enemies are the same. However, Trump notes ‘We have no idea who these people are, we are the worst when it comes to paperwork...... We cannot let them into this country, period’ means that we should not let them in since maybe these refugees will make a bad effect on us. In addition, Trump approves about the federal government should use raids to enforce immigration laws yet Clinton objects it. To illustrate, Trump states in his twitter ‘Wow, because of the pressure put on by me, ICE TO LAUNCH LARGE SCALE DEPORTATION RAIDS. It’s about time!’ to show his agreement. In contrast, as Clinton observes in www.wapt.com, Jan. 11, 2016 ‘Our immigration enforcement efforts should be humane and conducted...... People are afraid to go to work....... or even the grocer store’ shows that the federal government should not use raids to enforce immigration laws because we have to care about the feeling of residents.
I like the fifth “he whose face gives no light shall never become a star” because in our tough life we need some positive minds to keep us going on. This sentence illustrates that if you want to become a superstar you have to keep enthusiastic when you face problems. And after we figure the problems out, we can become who we want to be. It encourages me when I’m in trouble.
ENCOURAGEMENT
It seems like the sun rising from the horizon It sounds like a magpie chirping outside the window in the morning It smells like the scent of refreshing black tea after lunch It tastes like popping candies jumping in your mouth It makes me like a strong lion running on the endless prairie |
